Bus Ride

I'm stoked! I just received my first "fan mail" from someone enjoyed my story "Bus Ride" which appears in Alison Tyler's anthology "E is for Exotic."

I'm really proud of this particular story because it touches upon a few of my favorite things: Dominance/submission play and exhibitionism. Here is a short excerpt:

"Don't be shy, love. Tell me why you need a collar."

"It's for a party," I said. "My friend is getting married, and we're going out clubbing afterwards."

"I see." He ran his hand over my thigh, his fingertips hovering in the air, never touching the soft fabric. He had large hands with long fingers. Whenever I saw a man with long fingers, I wondered if he knew how to play the piano.

He moved his hand from my thigh to my forearm. He lightly brushed my bare arm with his fingertips. His slight touch went from the inside of my wrist to my elbow and up towards my bicep. He stroked my skin slowly like he was remembering my texture. I watched his gaze slide over my breasts, my stomach, and lower.

I jumped when the bus rolled into motion. I didn't even hear the driver announce our departure. Shifting in my seat, I noticed that all the passengers congregated around the front and middle. A few middle-aged ladies discussed which casino had the best buffet.

"No one can see us," Dave whispered.

Excerpt from "Sweet as Vanilla"

From my story which appears in Coming Together: For the Cure:

Putting my hand over Lily's wrist, I leaned forward to whisper. "Do you want to go out for drinks?" My smile felt crooked, and my tongue was dry. It had been a while since I was in the dating scene, and I was rusty.

She put her hand on my thigh. "Sure. I know a place."

I followed her black coupe to a local dive bar. She said it was her regular spot. Dimly lit, the place was small but comfortable with a few booths in the back. As I scanned the other patrons, I took a sip of my cocktail, mostly vodka with the slightest splash of cranberry juice. I tried not to gasp out loud.

Lily gulped hers and said, "Great, isn't it?"

I'm not much of a drinker, so I was buzzed by the second round. Maybe I should have slowed down, but I always drank too much on first dates. The liquid courage was convenient.

During a cigarette break in the parking lot, Lily surprised me with her aggressiveness. Pressing me against the car, she grabbed my face and kissed me. Not hard, but she kissed me like she meant it. I leaned into the kiss, moaned when Lily's tongue entered my mouth. We kissed like familiar lovers, our hands wandering under shirts, underneath bras.

When we finally paused, I had to catch my breath. "You caught me off guard," I said.

E is for Exotic

Here is a sneak peek at Alison Tyler's upcoming anthology "E is for Exotic." My story "Bus Ride" has been accepted for this anthology.

Color me excited and ecstatic...this is huge! When she first emailed me to say she was interested in my story, I was buzzed for weeks. I'm a big fan of Alison Tyler, and her anthologies look great. I love the cover and title of this one.

I still have to wait for final approval from her publisher, Cleis Press. Keep your fingers crossed that my story doesn't get cut.
