Stepping it up
I start getting into introspective-mode around this time of year. With 2008 right around the corner, I evaluate my year and think about the future.
I've decided that I need to step it up. I want more for myself. My good friend told me he lives by this motto: "Make each day your masterpiece." That's a good rule to live by.

I agree, it is a good rule. But it could also leave you feeling that you must make each day special. That's a lot of pressure.
I used to follow "regret nothing" fiercely. I think though, that the burden of regret is the flip side of ignorant bliss.

That's true. I suppose a masterpiece can be a small thing like appreciating your loved ones or seeing something special.
I guess all rules have a flip side.
