First Time pt. 2
We exchanged awkward smiles, and we just stood there for a few minutes. After a while I excused myself and headed to an empty booth.
She followed me and sat close to me. She didn't look like the typical lesbian, so I was a little surprised. Then again, I didn't know too many lesbians. It's not like I was an expert.
I didn't want to be rude, but I wasn't the type to lead anyone on. I could tell she was interested, and I wanted to just nip this in the bad.
"Look," I said. "You seem like a nice girl, and you're real cute. But I'm not gay. I like boys."
She grinned at me. "So? Who asked if you were gay?"
I blushed a little. Now I felt like an idiot. She lit a cigarette and offered one to me. I used the table candle to light up.
"I'm just messing with you," she said. "I'm interested. I've always had a thing for petite Asian girls. However, I can tell you and your friends are straight. So I won't go there."
I relaxed a little. We ordered another round of drinks and started to chat about music. We talked about the upcoming local music festival and about which bands we wanted to see. She talked a lot with wide hand gestures. When she listened, she always had her hand of my thigh or the small of my back. I figured she was one of those touchy-feely types, so I didn't mind.
Out of the blue, she said, "So you've never been with a girl." Not a question but a statement.
"Nope. What makes you say that?"
"I can tell. You seem so vanilla." She shrugged. "I can usually tell by looking at a girl."
It felt like she was calling me a prude. I was used to it, so it didn't really bother me. Well, maybe it bothered me a little. I felt like she was making fun of me.
My face felt hot. I wasn't sure if it was from the beer or something else. I excused myself and went to the restroom.
When I came out of the stall, she was in front of the mirror. We both re-applied our shiny lip glosses.
She turned to me. "I bet you've never even kissed a girl."
"Nope." I shrugged. "What can I say? I like dick."
She moved her lips closer to my ear. "Yeah, but how do you know? How do you know what you like or don't like if you haven't tried it yet?"
